Austin Surhoff and Jimmy Feigen clinch Men’s swimming events – 2011 Texas Senior Circuit

Austin Surhoff and Jimmy Feigen won gold medals in the Men’s events on the fourth day of the 2011 Texas Senior Circuit. Surhoff seized the title of the Men’s 200m Individual Medley (IM), whereas, Feigen dominated the 100m freestyle swim.
The session concluded after the finals of the 200m IM, 100m freestyle, 50m breast-stroke and the 100m back-stroke in the Men’s category.
The session kicked-off with the finals of 200m IM, where UN-ST’s Surhoff earned the gold medal in a winning time of 2 minutes and 04.16 seconds. He was only 0.39 seconds away from his following swimmer and team-member, Hayes Johnson, who reached the podium
for the silver medal, by touching the wall in a time of 2 minutes and 04.55 seconds. Ty L Stewart of YHF-MS stayed almost two seconds behind Johnson and posted a time of 2 minutes and 06.88 seconds for the bronze medal.
The arena’s favourite, Jackson Wilcox of TXLA-ST, who qualified as the fastest swimmer into the finals, failed to meet the expectations of his fans in the final rounds and finished fourth in the four-lap race.
In the 100m freestyle swim, Feigen of TXLA-ST remained dominant for the gold medal and claimed the title of the event, by touching the wall in a marvellous time of 49.59 seconds. With his overwhelming effort, he was 0.07 seconds faster than his closest competitor,
Gary Weber-Gale, who appeared on the podium for the silver medal in a time of 49.66 seconds. Similarly, Dax R Hill stayed only 0.43 seconds away and pocketed the bronze medal of the event, by producing a time of 50.09 seconds.
The third event of the session was 50m breast-stroke, where TXLA-ST’s Christi Schurr enjoyed a comfortable victory over fellow swimmers, as he achieved the gold medal in a time of 29.03 seconds. The 26-year-old Schurr was almost half a second away from his
closest competitor, Eric Friedland, who followed him on the finishing wall for the silver medal by posting a time of 29.56 seconds. Friedland was only 0.04 seconds away from his following swimmer, Kean Stevenson, who ended third in a time of 29.60 seconds.
The last event of the session was 100m back-stroke, where Patrick Murphy of UN-ST conquered the gold medal of the event, by touching the wall in 55.74 seconds. He was followed by Hayes Johnson and Cole S Cragin, who secured the silver and bronze medals,
by clocking a time of 56.76 and 57.57 seconds, respectively.
The session concluded after the completion of the scheduled swimming events, while the winners received medals for their undisputed swims.
