  1. Time for brekkie.

    Time for dinner.

    Time for beer!

    HaHaHa....  a little fun.

Although there are only three official time zones, since all the states do not observe Summer Time (what we call Daylight Saving Time in the USA) uniformly, it is possible during some parts of the year to have as many as five or six different times in that country.

  2. Hi Izzy.

The three official time zones for continental Australia are Australian Eastern Time, Australian Central Time and Australian Western Time.  In their autumn and winter, right now, when it's noon in Sydney, it's 11:30 a.m. in Adelaide and Darwin, and 10 a.m. in Perth.

The unofficial time zone known as Central Western Time is halfway between Central and Western, so when it's noon in Sydney, it's 10:45 in Eucla.  (One writer had it just a half-hour ahead of Perth, but unless the rules have changed very, very recently, that's a small mistake.)

Also, don't forget Lord Howe Time.  When it's 12:00 noon in Sydney, it's 12:30 p.m. on Lord Howe Island.

  3. AWST - Australian Western Standard Time (GMT+8)

ACST - Australian Central Standard Time (GMT + 9.5)

AEST - Australian Eastern Standard Time (GMT + 10)

In local use the first letter of the Acronymn is dropped (so they read as WST, CST, EST respectively).

There is also an unofficial timezone used by the communities on the nullabor plain between norseman and the West Australian border:

CWST - Central Western Standard Time  (GMT + 8.5)

  4. Australian Eastern Standard Time

    Australian Central Standard Time

    Australian Western Standard Time

Western Central Time <--- unofficial time zone
