Hi i was wondering my sister moved to Austrailia in novmber 6 2005 and has been living there ever since, She has applied for a patnership visa with her fiance of 2yrs which is to be sucessful when her documents arrive from the UK.

But she is worried what would happen if she split up from her fiancé as they have been having problems lately would she eligible to get citenship?

Summary being she has been Austrailia nearly 3 yrs come november, She has been with her fiancé 2 years and has had her interview for patnership visa once the original documents from the police in uk arrive she will be accepted.

Dear lord. You can spell fiancé with the accents and yet you can't spell Australia. Your sister should be unable to get Australian citizenship based on her bad genes.

Most likely, her partner will tell DIAC (Department of Immigration and Citizenship) that they are no longer in a relationship and he will cease sponsoring her. If she has permanent residency then she can stay in Australia (no she doesn't need citizenship) if she only has a temporary visa then she will need to leave. I would she only (given how long she has been in Australia and how long they are dating) she only has a temporary visa.
