Despite http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s poor form in recently, the New Zealand skipper Ross Taylor is not ready to take them as an easy opposition during the upcoming tour of Australia, his first major assignment since taking over as captain.
The 27-year-old middle-order batsman from Wellington did not agree with the general perception that the Kangaroos are down as quite a number of their senior players have been struggling with their form since Australia’s tour
of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in October last year. The Kiwi skipper agreed that the Australians have not performed very well lately; however, he said that they are always a formidable side at home.
"They haven't played as well as they would have liked in recent months but they're still a very good side and they're still a team that sets the benchmark," said Taylor while talking to the media reporters before leaving for
Australia. "Australia's always tough in their own conditions, people say they're down but I don't think they are,” he insisted.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 only. The upcoming Australia tour will be Taylor’s first major assignment
as the Kiwi skipper and the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wellington-c864 cricketer has maintained that they are going down under with an aim to win the two-match series.
The Black Caps are scheduled to play a four-day tour game against Australia A at Brisbane from November 24 to 27.
Talking about the practice game, Taylor said that the flat Brisbane wicket can be disastrous for his bowlers so he would be quite watchful while finalizing a bowling plan for the tour game.
"The wicket is very flat and Australia put a lot of touring teams there to tire the bowlers out," Taylor said. "So we'll be going there to conserve the bowlers' energy as much as possible. There's probably going to be the talking
point of whether we go in with four quicks, or three quicks and Dan [Vettori] batting at No 6,” he added further.
The first Test of the series will be played between December 1-5 at Brisbane, while Hobart will host the second and the last test from December 9.
