I haven't visited Australia yet, but I plan to spend a few months there while writing my book, so which city would you advice me to head to? Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth or maybe Adelaide? Thanks for your answers.

  1. melbourne  by far

it has heaps of attractions, shops and stuff to do

    sydney is so s****.

theres nothing 2 do there once uve seen the sydney harbour bridge + opera house

  2. Sidney is the biggest, most populated and diverse city in Australia with the most tourist attractions.

  3. Melbourne - Hands down!

  4. Perth fore sure, we are the most laid back city out of them all.

It's has been proven we have the most sunniest days.

I also herd the other day on tv that studies show we are the friendliest.

    Very clean

    Beautiful beaches

Only thing is we are isolated a bit, takes 5 hrs to get pretty much anywhere over east but other than that it's all good :)

    Good luck

  5. Melbourne - to get your creative juices flowing. Culturally superior to Sydney. Awesome food, great cafes, lifestyle, less road rage (than Sydney) and people are generally more pleasant.

Perth for the lifestyle (laidback and quiet) - perfect for writing a book. Plus the beaches up the coast are beautiful and makes for the best road trips.

  6. sydney is great lots of  cool sites and the capital is awsome also canbera

  7. Adelaide- peace, quiet, country-town vibe with great art culture, pretty slow though unless you come in the (Jan-April)

Melbourne- Fashion capitol, pretty good shopping, full of interesting characters but the weather's abit drab.... like the london of Aus. There's snow not too far away if you're going for the winter.

Sydney- Where the party's at. Cafe culture's big, more 'dangerous' aparently, always buzzing, more of a NY feel, especially great once/if you know some locals.

Brisbane- Tourists gallore, palm-tree resorts, warm humidity alot of the time, safe bet to have fun at as they cater alot to out-of-towners.

    Perth- lol.

Depends what you're after.... You know some of the best places in australia are out of the capitols. Far North QLD, the middle of the NT ('arnem' lands), the Table lands, the wine reigons of WA, etc, etc... it really depends what you want to get out of your time.

  8. Sydney has a spectacular harbour area and some lovely National Parks nearby. Personally I like Melbourne . It is Arty . And also some wonderful drives from There, but The weather is not always good. Perth is a long way from the rest of Australia but a nice clean City . Adelaide Doesn't do a lot for me although there are some nice places there. Brisbane has the best weather . Darwin I love It is very Cultural tropical and typically Australian

  9. sydney is a large city and has alot of touristy attractions. Personally i think perth is the best city here, its not too rushed and crowded and has some of the nest beaches and friendliest people you'll meet. Also the towns outside of perth are great plenty of spectacular natural wonders for writing inspiration

  10. Brisbane has the best weather and the people are more relaxed than in sydney and melbourne.
