Australia's equivalent to UK's, Liverpool?

I live in Liverpool and think its a great city. I am also thinking of emigrating to Australia. What is the equivalent city to liverpool, but with the far better climate!

  1. Sydney has a suburb called Liverpool too. It's very different to that of the one in the UK I'd assume. It's inland and on the outskirts of Sydney.

    OK, stuff what I said. In NSW, I'd say either Newcastle or Wollongong because they are both port cities.


  2. Newcastle, Woologong, Port Kembla in NSW or Geelong in Victoria, or Whyalla, Port Pirie in South Australia, Dampier, Port Hedland, Geraldton , Esperance & Fremantle in WA.

    These are all secondary port cities in Australia, just like Liverpool is.

    From the sounds of things I reckon you'll like the South Australian town of Whyalla best. But Dampier and Port Hedland offers the highest wages in Australia for all available jobs.
