Australia A suffered another loss of personnel on Monday after fast bowler http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ben-Cutting-c1132 withdrew from the tour of England with a back problem.
The 25-year-old Queenslander has become the third seamer the Aussies have lost on the tour, without featuring in a single game. Cutting, who was not picked in the playing XI for the tour opening three-day match against Derbyshire, in
Derby over the weekend, flew home following the conclusion of the drawn match.
The right-arm medium pacer was overlooked for the Derby bout after being diagnosed with a back problem, which required him to return home to undergo a complete rehab programme.
The Queenslander joins Victorian pacer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Pattinson-c1653 and the teenage pace sensation Patrick Cummins in the injury list on the tour. Both Cummins and Pattinson returned home well before the A tour kick started, with respective injuries
which they had picked up during the preceding ODI tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ireland-c751 and England, with the senior team.
The 19-year-old New South Welshman Pat Cummins, who has do date played one Test and five One Day Internationals for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, at Lord’s late last month,
and was sent home to Sydney for recovery and rehabilitation.
Pattinson, on the other hand, picked up an abdominal strain during the fifth and final One Day International against the Poms, at Old Trafford, Manchester on July 10. Initially the 22-year-old Victorian paceman was supposed to remain
in England with the A team, but considering his injury, the Cricket Australia decided to send him home.
By departing early from the tour, the trio failed to gain valuable experience in English conditions ahead of next year’s Ashes series, to be hosted by England.
