Australia Domestic: Ryobi One-Day Cup - 15th match – New South Wales v Western Australia – Match Update

In the ongoing Ryobi One-Day Cup, New South Wales beat Western Australia by five wickets on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 in the 15th match of the tournament at Sydney Cricket Ground.
With this win, New South Wales (NSW) have gained 12 points in total and are at fourth place in the tournament after playing five matches.
One the other hand, Western Australia (WA) are at the bottom of the pool table after losing all their matches so far in the current tournament.

Meanwhile, NSW who are one of the top teams in Australia’s domestic circuit, also needed to grab a win to prevent slipping down the order.
After winning the toss, Western Australia chose to bat first and give their batsmen a chance to bat on a fast track that was expected to help the seamers later in the day.
However, NSW struck gold when they grabbed their first wicket on the fourth delivery of the match which put extreme pressure on the batting side as they lost the wicket with only a run on the board.

The consistent rain brought the Duckworth–Lewis method (D/L method) in to play which helped NSW win the match.
