Australia ETA - Do I apply myself or do the airline do it for you?

uk resident, flying to australia with emirates. I am assuming i have to get sort it out myself but just thought i would check

If your UK passport indicates that you are a British National (Overseas) (BNO), you must get your ETA via a travel agent, airline of an office of the Immigration department. BNO passport holders cannot apply for their ETA online.

If it is not marked BNO, you should get it yourself, but it's very easy to do. Go to http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/tourist/...

You MUST have a visa to enter Australia.

yes you have to get it yourself,as you are from the UK you are eligible for an ETA visa that you can get easily on line

Normally, it is the travellers responsibility to organise a VISA.

However, Australia and the UK have a visa waiver agreement, so you can come to Australia for a toursit based visit for up to 90 days without a visa. If you wish to study or work though you will need a visa. See http://www.immi.gov.au
