  1. Okkies 1stly getting animal jobs is super hard in Australia as there's heaps of competition not just from aussie but around the worrld. To get paid work in the animal feild you have to be qualified and experienced. You can probably pick up some volunteer work (work for free) but you'll have to hunt. Although vet nurseing jobs (that's what i do) are a little easier to find then animal atendants/zoo keepers (job i've been searching for).

You can actually start searching before you get here online:

    www.careerone.com.au

    www.seek.com.au

Type in animal in the search and it will give you everything to do with animals arund australia but I have to warn you sometimes theres nothing. When you get here show up at all the vets with a resume in hand and make sure you have a copy of working visa in resume so vets aren't worried about hiring you.

About accomodation, for traveller use backbacking motels and you can look them up online. But if you want a private room it's more expensive. And then theres always caravan parks you can stay at but you'll have to check them out as they have diff prices at diff times of year but most will give you a discount if you are staying a long time.

About a perm. res. they are pretty hard to get. My hubbies an american and had to go through all that and it's even hard when your married to one of us. Lots of paper work and a fair bit of money. I think it's $2000 just to file the paper work and thats not on top of all the other stuff you have to pay for like id checks, health checks, lawyers (which is what we did, expensive but well worth it as if you fill in the form with 1 wrong thing or leave out a question you get denied and then you mus get a lawyer to fight it and theres not too many that like doing that). But the forms are on this website:

    www.immi.gov.au

All the info you needs on there including all the requirments like a skill ect. Also make sure you never say that you were thinking of immigrationg over here even before you got to australia on your visitors/working visa. Big NO NO.

    GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN
