What do you think of the Australian cricket teams performance in the West Indies?..

I think it was an excellent match, full of excitment..Just how a match should be too...

A VERY big congrats to Stuart Clarke for his career best of 5/32 in 2nd innings but he also took 8/91 in the whole match, great effort Stewie..Well done...

Who were the best?..Both teams bat and ball?...

My picks are-BATSMAN-1st innings..

AUSSIES:

Ricky Ponting for his awsome -158

Brad Hodge for his handy-67

Andrew Symonds for his fast and furious 70...

WEST INDIES-Chanderpaul for his near match winning -118

Morton for his -67 runs AND

Bravo for his fast-46..........

AND Congrats to Fidel Edwards for his teriffic bowling figures of 5/104.....

2ND Innings-

The only 1 who did any good was Andrew Symonds-He was the match winner for us with the bat-79....

Bravo did well to get 4/47

  1. This test match showed how fragile the WI batting is and their

team is. Such opportunities comes once in a long time for

those lowly placed teams. Aus won this match for their

stellar performances by Stuart Clark and Symonds. As I have

already mentioned that Aus needs to win this series with no

less than 2-0, they proved their point and WI lost a rare realistic

opportunity. Edwards has bowled really well. Chanderpaul did

good with his bat in the first.

Credit to Aus showing their resiliency to win the test.

  2. A very good match that was, and a tense one too,coz watching the second innings, it thought Australia won't make it. But Clark was amazing and so was Symonds. Symonds steadied the boat which was more or less sinking. Clark did the rest. The match was never really out of our hands thought at times i thought it was.

I agree with you choice but don't forget Lee. He provided some spirited support to Clark. Not to forget that deadly bouncer which did Chanderpaul in.He was lethal.....

    Aussies all the way..........

  3. Morning Ange, i thought you might still be asleep cos you were watching the Test last night (no i'm not stalking youm its just a guess LOL)

since i dont have pay tv, i can only go on what i have read and heard on top of the little bits and pieces i have seen on the tv, but it is awesome to see Punter in form, especially after all the rubbish on here about his form in the MMC/IPL (Mickey Mouse Cup as i have taken to calling it), Roy for playing 2 starkly different yet equally important innings and lets not forget that catch he took last night! Hodge for coming into a side that he was never even in the running for 2 weeks ago, and handling himself very well especially with the situation being as it was, knowing that even if he scored another 200 it wouldnt be enough to keep his spot, yet he still performed well, also i would like to say well done to Haddin on debut, partly cos i know 'keepers dont get alot of recognition for there keeping, partly cos i'm a keeper and know this first hand, therefore i'm biased as well!! i didnt see anything, but a keeper only gets noticed when they do something wrong, and since i havent seen or heard anything, i presume he had a good game with the gloves

Edwards i wont heap alot of praise on, mainly just because someone asked on here who would take the most wickets for the Windies and i picked him!! but seriously he bowled very well and good on him, it good to see Bravo performing as well, that kids got a heck of a lot of talent! no doubt he is the man they can build future sides around! Morton to performed well againist top line opposition, but there is not much i can say about Chanderpaul except bloody well done, to be flatenned out the way he was by Lee, but get up and still make a ton...theres not really much you can say about it, it pretty much speaks for itself!

but finally to Stu Clarke, the wicket was made to suit him, and the big bugger delivered when it mattered most, deserving of his title of man of the match!! showed that Australian cricket can survive without Warne and Pidge

however i must admit to one thing thats worrying me, Mitchell Johnson, i know hes young and developping and the guy is coming along well, but i'm just not sure if he is coming along fast enough to keep his spot, it would be great if he comes out in the next test and takes a bag, but if he doesnt the pressure will start building, as people start thinking "well hes been in the team for a while now, hes got to start stepping up" also because competition for bowling spots is fierce right now, with Noffke, Hilfenhaus and Bollinger all waiting to take his place, can he maintain his spot? we'll have to wait and see i guess

EDIT: you know what your right Ange, i should have a little more faith in him, but he still has to be wary cos theres alot of talent waiting for him to slip up, as i said about with Haddin, its mainly cos i'm biased! tell you what tho, your keen to be getting up at 5am to watch, especially at this time of your but i guess that means your dedicated!! LOL for getting up so early, have a star! lol

EDIT: you love cricket, hate the MMC/IPL, into footy and follow a decent team (one thats not Collingwood, Port or Carlton), you tell people "where to go" when need be, you stick by your aussie boys thru thick and thin... if you had a tv on your head and could breath thru your ears you'd be perfect!!! LOL (BTW do take offense to that, its just a really strange complement lol)

  4. yayyy, congrats to clark 8 wickets all together well done..  man of the match.

aussies once again proven to be good at test match.  unlike New Zealand the aussies bat poorly in the second innings but if they stumble in batting then they wont let the ooponents score either so that's why they've won...

  5. congrats I didn't miss the match

Lee was a little unlucky 3 catches were dropped on his bowling but Clark's performance was great

Chanderpaul's and Bravos wicket made me breathe easy when Katich dropped the  catch I thought he dropped the match But Nice work by Clark and  Lee (he was just unlucky)

Symonds also did a great job in both innings And Ponting is the best Hodge  also did a good job

  6. WOW! I didn't watch it this morning, so what did I miss? That makes me happy.

  7. Clarke is a very accurate bowler who was named man of the match

  8. Great Ange,

Welcome back. How have you been? Congratulations to Australia. In my opinion Stuart Clarke is a very accurate bowler.
