  1. Good choice!  I looooooovee Australia as much as you looooooooveeee Aussies.  I'd definitely take the east coast.  At least Sydney through Cairns (if you're American, pronounced roughly like "Cans") and the Gold Coast.  In the northeast is where you can get the "rainforrest meets the reef" experience and it's incredible!  The land is beautiful and the people are incredible.  And besides the Northeast is home to many surfers, backpackers, at times schoolies, etc who are great to see in swimmers.

For specific places to visit (there are too many for me to name here and they've got tons of options depending on what you like) buy a "Let's Go" or "Lonely Planet" Guide at any bookstore.  They are filled with helpful information and great to keep with you in case you have a change of plans while you're traveling.

You should journal your travels, it's a great adventure that others would like to hear! (and you'll want to remember for the rest of your life!)

  2. Hi,

Australia is a great place to visit as it's a big country with so many things to see and do here all year round.

There's the Great Barrier Reef in Far North Queensland which is the world's largest heritage listed site. We have some amazing beaches, cities, festivals, big events.

We are the oldest country in the world which dates back to thousands and millions of years. We have some amazing Aboriginal rock art which are millions of years old and are the oldest artwork in the world.

There's so many things you can see and do here in Australia in our big country of ours!

To get from one side of the country to the other it takes at least 5 days to travel there by car or train unless you fly which is the quickest way.

  3. Try these sites i hope they help if you come to Queensland you will not be disappointed

  4. im a queenslander myself and can back up the other people that answered this question.

head up the queensland coast to cairns and magnetic island, great barrier reef is also VERY popular and one of the most beautiful reefs you will ever see in your ENTIRE LIFE! also sunshine coast is beautiful, just an hour and a half north of the queensland capital, brisbane. heading inland into the bush is also beautiful and gives you the 'true blue aussie experience'!

    enjoy!

    - i would recommend hiring out a car and driving simply cos you can experience and see more along the way. talk to a travel agent. and then once you get into australia, see a travel agent just to recommend places to see and do! head to ourbrisbane.com (that will give you info about brisbane and stuff to do around brissie!
