An all-round performance from the New Zealand Women’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Amy-Ella-Satterthwaite-c44145 eventually went in vain as the Australia Women clinched a narrow 7-run win to emerge as the victors of the Rose Bowl 2012/13, after the fourth and final match played on December 19, at the North Sydney Oval in Sydney.
The hosts chose to bat first after winning the toss, and led by Jess Cameron’s half-century, managed to evade the assaults of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lea-Marie-Maureen-Tahuhu-c72373 (10-1-47-3) and Player of the Match Satterthwaite (10-0-59-3), in order to post a competitive final total of 267.
Opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adrian-Roger-Kirshaw-Pierson-c42135 it out for longer, and was joined by Cameron (66) for a 58-run partnership for the second wicket.
Haynes found herself run out by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Meg-Lanning-c75532 (38). Their combined efforts took the team up to 131, after which Cameron was finally dislodged, by Satterthwaite in the 21st over.
Satterthwaite followed up with the wickets of both Lanning and wicketkeeper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Erin-Alyse-Osborne-c56181 (8) in the 39th over, both undone by Tahuhu.

The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 Women, meanwhile, made valiant efforts to complete the chase, but the hosts launched a concentrated attack, which saw all five bowlers claiming at least one wicket each, while Perry (10-0-44-2) and Schutt (10-0-43-2) took two each.
The visitors’ top-order put in solid performances, as did some batters from the middle order, and together they appeared to have put the team on steady ground. Skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lucy-Rose-Doolan-c73250 (30), and Katie Perkins (40) all contributed substantially.

The team appeared to be edging along towards the target, but the Australia Women ensured that the tourists fell short and went on to claim a 7-run victory, winning the Rose Bowl 3-1.
