New Zealand 125 v Australia 126 - Australia Women won by 9 wickets (with 200 balls remaining)
On Sunday, January 29, 2012 the Australian women cricket team won the three-match series against the women’s team from New Zealand by 1-0, after beating the Kiwis in the final match played at Blacktown Olympic Park Oval, Sydney.
After winning the toss, New Zealand chose to bat first as they aimed to post enough runs on the board to give the Aussies a run for their money and beat the hosts right in their own backyard.
However, they had a disastrous start to their innings as they lost their first wicket on the penultimate delivery of the first over with only a run on the board as opener, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lucy-Rose-Doolan-c73250, found her way back to the pavilion without scoring a run.
With 29 runs on the board, New Zealand lost their second wicket when opener, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Frances-c57085 Mackay, fell after playing a cameo innings of seven runs off 17 deliveries.
Skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Suzannah-Wilson-Bates-c92079, was the third wicket to fall as she departed after hammering seven runs. At the time of her demise New Zealand had amassed 36 runs on the board.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Amy-Ella-Satterthwaite-c44145, who was looking in commendable form with the bat, became the fourth causality as she lost her wicket after playing a nifty innings of 19 runs.  The side had posted 39 runs at the time of her departure.
With the top order sent back in the pavilion, it was time for middle-order batswomen Liz Perry and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Katie-Teresa-Perkins-c70473 to save their team from complete annihilation in front of the Aussies as they batted with zeal and confidence in a bid to subdue the bowling side.
From 60 they took the total to 91 runs as they belted a partnership of 31 runs together, and gave the Australians something to think about.
With Perry out for 27 and Perkins back in the pavilion after hammering 33 runs, New Zealand posted 125 runs at the end of their innings, giving Australia an easy total to chase.
From Australia, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ellyse-Alexandra-Perry-c55924 grabbed three wickets each as they made life extremely difficult for the batting side.
Coming out to bat, the Australian batters left http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Alexandra-Joy-Blackwell-c43285 belting a 50.
Hunter from Australia was named as the Player of the Match.
