West Indies Women 164 (47 ov) - West Indies Women chose to bat
In the 19th match of the ongoing ICC Women's World Cup, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 (neutral venue).
West Indies Women, who chose to bat, got off to a decent start by posting 17 runs before losing their first wicket on the dismissal of JB Nero for one.
Then with 31 runs on the board, the batting side lost their second wicket when Australia’s ML Schutt dismissed SA Campbelle for nil.
Opener, NY McLean, who looked confident, was then the next player to find her way back to the pavilion after she was trapped in front of stumps by HL Ferling with 26 runs to her name. At the time of her dismissal, West Indies were struggling with 36 runs
on the board.
With the top three batswomen back in the pavilion, Kyshona A Knight and SR http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915 tried to forge some sort of a resistance, but this partnership was also short-lived as the latter was sent home by HL Ferling after she had scored only five runs. By this time,
the Windies had managed to post only 53 runs on the board.
West Indies were clearly struggling by this time and needed a big innings from someone to avoid an embarrassing demise.
Australia, however, looked in impeccable form as they struck again by dismissing Kyshona A Knight, who fell after hitting only eight runs off her bat.
Skipper MR Aguilleira and DJS Dottin then saved the day, as they led their side towards 86 runs with both batswomen hammering the bowlers.
However, before this partnership could seriously threaten the Aussies, Sthalekar grabbed the wicket of Aguilleira, who perished after scoring only seven runs.
While, SF Daley was disappointing for her knock of only four runs, DJS Dottin stole the show by jabbing an exuberant knock of 60, playing a dominating role in helping her side pile something worth fighting for.
West Indies now need a big performance from their bowlers to humble Australia today.
