  1. I have visited Australia Zoo and was just enchanted.  It seemed really easy to get around in - very clean restrooms, friendly service people at the restaurants, and you can go right up to the Koalas. (sp)?  Steve Irwin was alive, and we had pictures taken with him.  Brisbane is beautiful, and about one hour away.  Be sure to pick up the instrumental CD of Australian music.  It's really nice.

  2. I have been to the zoo twice and both times it was immaculate.  It is a full and exciting day.  Being able to interact with the animals was a highlight for the children.  Take sunscreen, hats and good walking shoes.  You will definitely leave with a smile.

  3. I have visited the Zoo twice once was about 12 years ago and then it was good but rather small .I went back late last year. Now it is rather big and well organised. When you enter find out what time the croc show is on so that you get there in time for a good seat. They have a transport around it like a train and you can get on at the main gate, have a running commentary and at the far end you can get off and walk back . It's more of a wildlife park and where the elephants and tigers are it has been done out like a asian jungle theme. Not sure where you would be staying . the trip from the Gold Coast would make it a very long day and it is still quite a way from Brisbane so it would be nicer to stay reasonably close so you wouldn't have to far to go. If you are staying in the area you will notice the glass house mountains, they are unique and in the hills is a really unique village called Montville . well worth a look and wander around there.

  4. Australia zoo - the late Steve Irwin's wonderful zoo has to be the best i have ever visited and the cleanest!

We had a 4 night stay in Brisbane so did a day trip to the zoo and it was great.

Plenty of different animals to see and fascinating to read all bout them.

We enjoyed the croccoseum in which we saw a croc show in which they were being fed etc, we saw some tigers and some parrots flying around. It really was fun for both adults and kids.

I loved seeing the baby kangaroos in their mother pouch. My sons liked the koalas. It was great to just see the kangaroos roaming about.

The gift shop was well stocked too and not over priced.

I think the Irwin's have done a great job. I was so sad at the loss of Steve  as i admired him. I am glad Terri Irwin is continuing to develop this zoo and hope Steve's spirit lives on in Bindi and Bob their children.

  5. Our family have been there numerous times.

We always had a fantastic time.

That was before Steve passed away.

I've been told it's still well worth the price of entry.
