as they easily amassed the massive total of 505.
There was some good bowling by the Indian bowlers in the end with Ojha bowling almost 34 overs with 9 maidens 67 runs and 3 wickets. He was extremely economical and managed to take some important wickets. Sreesanth and Dhawan both took two wickets respectively.
While the captain of the BP XI side defended his bowlers after their dismal performance and blamed the pitch for being flat in the opening day of the warm up match against Australia in Chandigarh.
"The bowlers did a good job. There was not too much in the wicket. Our bowlers were up against a quality side and they had to bowl on a flat track. Still, they did a decent job," Gambhir said at a post match conference.
However as soon as the Indian innings started they found themselves in the midst of worry, mainly due to a tremendous display of bowling by the Australians that has left the BP XI batting line up completely tattered. Hilfenhauss took 3 wickets in 7 overs
and dismissed Gautam Gambhir the captain himself along with other key Indian Batsmen. Pujara also failed to make much of an impact and he has been brought into the squad in place of Yuvraj Singh the veteran Indian batsman.
Yuvraj Singh lamented the decision of the selectors to have left him out of the squad. He felt that he had a lot to give to his team, and he was approaching the peak of his career. The Indian side, at the moment have 143 runs on the board with 6 wickets
down, and the flat track according to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gautam-Gambhir-c58623 turned out to be not so flat after all. Brilliant batting was displayed by the Australians, bringing them to a total of 500 odd runs and it is very likely that the Kangaroos will go on to win this match.
A win would give them a much needed boost in their morale before they go on to face the Indians in the Test series and then later in the year face England for the ultimate clash of the titans, the Ashes.
