Australia and England ready to take on each other in the Twenty20 series
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 will take on England in the first Twenty20 match of the two-match Twenty20 series against both the teams. The match will be played at Adelaide where Australia suffered a crushing defeat against England in the Ashes.
Both teams were the finalists of the 2010 Twenty20 World Cup. However, England was the better of the two teams back then, as they defeated Australia by seven wickets to lift the trophy. Since that defeat, Australia has been continuously dominated by the
English team. The Kangaroos were defeated 3-1 in the Ashes and there were several changes made in the Twenty20 squad. The home team will be without their captain Michael http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120, who led them to the final of the World Cup, as he retired from the shortest version
of the game soon after the Ashes defeat. The decision taken by Clarke was to focus completely on Test and ODI cricket in which he has been out of form.
Following Clarke’s retirement from Twenty20 cricket, the explosive batsman Cameron White was named as the captain of the team but the bigger surprise was the omission of Brad Haddin from the squad. The veteran wicketkeeper was sidelined for the shortest
version of the game and youngster Tim Paine was named ahead of him. Paine was also named as the deputy to White. The Aussies will be hoping that their young guns fire in the shortest version of the game and give a winning momentum to the team heading into
the ODI’s. There will be a combination of youth and experience in the team as Brett Lee will be returning to the Aussie squad joining the attack with Shaun Tait.
The English team is looking much stronger than it has been in the past two decades. The Twenty20 team will be led by Paul Collingwood, who commanded his team to a historic Twenty20 World Cup win in 2010. Collingwood will be under pressure to perform as he
had a relatively bad outing in the Ashes. He retired from Test cricket realizing the fact that there are other youngsters waiting for their opportunity to make a mark at the Test match level. England will be relying on their batting to cope with the pace attack
of Australia. Although the Australian team has a lethal pace attack, there are batsmen in the English side who can weather the storm.
Some talented batsmen like Eoin Morgan and Steve Davies will be a part of the team which will definitely give some boost to the visitors. The experience of Kevin Pietersen will also be a key factor for England. Pietersen was the player of the tournament
when England went onto win the Twenty20 World Cup. Therefore, his presence is very vital for the team. The Englishman will be targeted by the Australian bowlers, to put the visitors on the back-foot.
England definitely was the better team in the Test matches but both teams are balanced in the shorter format of the game. There is a very good mix of experience and youth in both the squads and the fans can expect an exciting Twenty20 series ahead.
