  1. 2 weeks is not nearly enough time for Australia . You will see a  reasonable amount in New Zealand . If you want a glimpse of Sydney just stop over for a couple of days but that would hinder your time in New Zealand . You would be travelling as a tourist for 2 weeks so just get your ticket and passport and come on over. Hire a car in New Zealand and stay in Hotels and motels make sure most of your time is spent down the South Island . A day or 2 in wellington [go on the cable car ]then take the Ferry to Picton and pick up your hire car from there travel Queen Charlotte Sounds to nelson, Kaiteriteri, Able Tasman national Park then down the West Coast through Franz Joseph and Fox glacier to wanaka and Queenstown you probably will need to drop the rental car off in Queenstown and fly back to your international airport as that will cover your 2 weeks. It will be a great trip November is a good time. Try wotif.com.au for your Sydney hotel

  2. Where are you traveling from?  My husband is from New Zealand and he sometimes makes his layover in Australia last a few days so he can wander around.  We're in California (USA)....

  3. Go into your nearest travel agent and enquire. I did a tour with Gutheries Pacific of New Zealand and while it was rather fast paced I thoroughly enjoyed it and saw the main sites. The tour took 15 days.

For Australia, if your only allowing 2 weeks your best to stick to one or possible 2 cities, ideally you would allow a minimum of 2 weeks in each. The must see cities for tourists are Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast, in order.

I know Americans are waivered from needing a visa to visit Australia for a tourist based stay up to 3 months, this could include Canada but you best check.

I suggest flying with Air Canada, they have direct flights to Sydney and are also comparable cheaper then their competitiors.

  4. Air Canada is the only Airline that does a direct non stop flight from Vancouver to Sydney Australia. They should be able to suggest good packages for both countries. Australia is just way too big to do in 2 months let alone a week or so. So just stick to the area around Sydney. New Zealand is small and compact and easy to get to see in a week or so.
