Australia announce a 12-member squad for first Test against New Zealand – Cricket News Update

It will be interesting to see how the youngsters perform against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 in the longest version of the game. They will have the advantage of playing at home and the local support will certainly be a big boost for their confidence.
Other than the young guns, a couple of senior players will also be eagerly looking forward to this series and one of them will be Ponting.
The veteran batsman had been out of touch for a long time and was criticised for not being able to make a big impact in the longest version of the game.
However, he played a crucial innings of 62 runs against South Africa in the final Test, guiding Australia to a terrific victory. This might have forced the selectors to give another chance to the stylish batsman.
Other than Ponting, Hussey and Haddin will also be under some pressure to do well against the Black Caps. They chipped in with some runs against the Proteas and will now look to carry onto the momentum in the upcoming Test series.
