Pakistan’s one-day skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 has agreed that the UAE conditions suit his side well, but has warned his players against complacency in the upcoming ODI series against Australia, saying the mighty Aussies are a tough opposition anywhere in the world.
It is being anticipated that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE), with temperatures reaching 40-plus degree Celsius in the day, and above 35 in the evening. But Misbah is not reading too much into the heat factor and urged his players to be at their best come the opening ODI in Sharjah, on Tuesday, insisting that the Australians can adapt quickly to conditions all over the world.
"Definitely, conditions suit us but our players are focused because they know teams can adapt quickly and we have to be at our best to beat Australia," said Misbah while speaking to the media reporters on the eve of the first One Day International, on Tuesday.
"They have good players who put up the best fight and they are a difficult opponent," he added further.
Pakistan have not beaten http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in an ODI series for the last 10 years. Their last win over the Kangaroos had come in 2002, when the Men in Green clinched the series 2-1, down under. Misbah said that his players will be extra motivated to win, when the two teams meet in three-match one-day series, commencing in Sharjah today.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in February, and most recently against Sri Lanka – make them more determined to win, adding that the outcome of the series will also have some bearing on their future performances, particularly on next month’s World T20 championship in Sri Lanka.
"For us it is very important because after this is the World T20, we couldn't give the kind of performance that we wanted in the last two series, so it’s a good chance for us to stage a comeback," said Misbah.
The second ODI will be played in Abu Dhabi (August 31), and the two teams will return to Sharjah to play the third and final one-dayer (September 3), which will be followed by three T20 Internationals. The T20 World Cup gets underway in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 on September 18.
