After naming a 14-man squad for the final Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Robert-John-Inverarity-c85980 has hinted at the possibility of playing a four-pronged pace attack at the bouncy track of Perth.
After watching the Kangaroos struggle in the drawn second Test, the selectors added http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Josh-Reginald-Hazlewood-c69504 and John Hasting to the group, in an attempt to make full use of the pacy WACA deck.
With http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BW-Hilfenhaus-c1204 doing the bulk of the bowling in the second innings of the Adelaide Test, Inverarity suggested that playing an all out pace attack could be an exciting option for his side.
"There is a possibility that the final XI could include four pace bowlers. The extra bowlers have been included as back-up and in recognition of the demanding workloads shouldered by Peter Siddle and Ben Hilfenhaus in the first two Vodafone Tests against South Africa."
The Aussies had gone a similar route last year, where they left out spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mitchell-Aaron-Starc-c76392 was included at Lyon’s expense last time and one expects the same for the upcoming clash.
While it is likely that Starc will get his deserved chance in the upcoming Test, a lot with depend on the fitness of the current new ball pairing of Hilfenhaus and Peter, both of whom worked their socks off during a disappointing drawn affair.  They bowled a combined 67 overs in the second innings in order to cover the absence of Pattinson.
Skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Clarke-c1978 said that a final decision will be made after assessing the conditions at WACA.
"I think [the large squad is] for options, as you've just seen Hilfy and Sidds have had a really heavy workload, bowled a h**l of a lot in the last couple of weeks and Test matches, I think we need options for Perth to see how the boys follow-up. As a selection panel we're giving ourselves every option to work out what the best attack is for those conditions once we see them up in Perth."
