Australia facing bowling crisis; Ponting want Lee and Tait in World Cup squad
Australian Captain Ricky Ponting wants Brett Lee and Shaun Tait back in the squad for the One Day World Cup, coming February. This comes after losing to India just a few days back. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s world cup preparations have gravely
been hampered, since most of the players are injured.
The Speedster, who has been out from the national squad for almost over a year, is back in his club New South Wales, after recovering from an elbow surgery, while Shaun Tait also went through an elbow surgery after the Champions
League T20.
Both these bowlers are what Ricky Ponting wants in this ODI World Cup. Ponting believes that Brett http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lee-c72382, Shaun Tait and Mitchell Johnson can be the ultimate bowlers for Australia in the subcontinent conditions.
Brett Lee took two wickets in his first match playing for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, starting from 31st October.
Brett, who has 324 wickets in 186 ODIs has enough experience behind him, to make a comeback in International Cricket.
Ricky Ponting is confident that a comeback from Binga is going to be easy, since Lee has made comebacks in International Cricket after injuries in the past.
Josh Hazelwood (back), http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Pattinson-c1653 (back), Doug Bollinger (stomach), Peter Siddle (back) and Ryan Harris (knee) are all out of the Australian squad for being unfit. These injury worries have severely depleted the strength of
the Australian side.
With the return of Brett Lee and Shaun Tait, Ricky Ponting is hoping some stability will return to his national side.
Australia is perhaps facing the biggest crisis in its team, since 1999, after which they had been dominating until recently, where they have been on the losing end; in the T20 World Cup they lost to England in the final, and recently
were crushed by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in the Test series, and then being unable to defend a respectable total of 289 runs in the 2nd ODI at Visakhapatnam. The side that was once famous for defending the smallest of totals on the board is now in doldrums as the
sting from the Australian pace seems to have vanished.
