Australia: how come no childproof lighters anymore?

a number of years ago shops only sold childproof lighters (you know the ones with switches on them) because of some kind of legislation that came in. started smoking again recently and noticed that this is no longer the case. (IE you can easily get non-childproof ones) Anyone up on what happened with the legislation?

  1. I don't know. But is it really a wise thing to be smoking around young children? Maybe they stopped making them because they're trying to encourage parents not to smoke inside the house near their children. Passive smoking is a big problem. :-/
