Australia in India: Need plans to counter Zaheer, Harbhajjan - says Clarke
Ahead of the Test and ODI series against India, Australia’s vice captain Michael Clarke believes that the Aussies will face problems in negotiating Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh.
"Zaheer Khan is a wonderful bowler with the new ball and he can reverse it with the old ball. Harbhajan Singh too has had a lot of success in Test cricket, against Australia in particular. Both are probably two of India's best bowlers who have had the experience
of playing a lot against Australia," Clarke exclaimed. Clarke is a world class batsman and has scored 4514 runs from only 62 tests at an average of 50.71. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 on their home turf.
The Australian team is also happy with the security arrangements for the tour. When asked if he had any plans of stepping into the shoes of Captain Ricky Ponting, Clarke dismissed the idea, stating that Punter had a few years of cricket left in him and it
was unlikely that he would retire before the next couple of years. Clarke has been visiting India quite regularly since he also plays for the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals in the IPL and loves Indian food.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 will be looking to improve their current 4th spot in ICC Test rankings. Their past trips to India have been full of controversy, with the famous incident between Harbhajan and Andrew Symonds. Meanwhile, Australia completely annihilated
the BP XI team on their tour game with their pace attack after amassing 500 runs in the first innings. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gautam-Gambhir-c58623 was quick to defend his bowlers by stating that it was a flat pitch. However, the BP XI batsmen failed to capitalize by scoring many runs
on a supposedly ‘flat’ track.
While talking about Ponting, Clarke said that the best of Ricky Ponting was yet to come. Michael Clarke also commented on his own game, stating how his game had improved with better shot selection. He went on to say that he is a much mature player from when
he first came into international cricket.
"We know it's going to be a tough challenge. India is a strong team, but if we can play our best cricket, we can beat them in the series," Clarke optimistically said.
