Australia likely to bring in Clint McKay for Tuesday's CB series final against Sri Lanka - Cricket News Update
The prolific Australia all-rounder http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Hussey-c1380 on Monday hinted that pace bowler Clint McKay might be recalled for the second final of the ongoing triangular Commonwealth Bank series, to be played at Adelaide Oval on Tuesday, March
6, 2012.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/CJ-McKay-c1265, the 29-year-old Victoria pacer, has been quite impressive in the tri-series matches he has played so far, claiming 10 wickets in six matches at an average of 21.20. He was not part of the playing XI that featured in Sunday’s
first final as he made way for rookie pacer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BW-Hilfenhaus-c1204, failed to make an impact in that match, hence Cricket Australia selectors are looking forward to recalling the Victorian, at the expanse of Pattinson
or Hilfenhaus.
Hussey, who has played 48 One Day Internationals for Australia, hoped that if selectors recalled McKay for Tuesday’s game, then he will do an exceptional job.
"I think Clint's performed very well throughout the series, not only against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 as well," said Hussey speaking to the media reporters on the eve of the second final of the Commonwealth Bank series. "He's one of the
leading wicket-takers. So if the selection does come up I think http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Graham-Selvey-Clinton-c60633 will do an exceptional job," Hussey hoped.
The 34-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Western-Australia-c865 all-rounder said that they are eager to win the series and wrapping it up by winning tomorrow’s game, as majority of the players in the current team have not won an ODI series at home.
"This is a chance to win a series, not all of us have won series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in ODIs," said Hussey, a hard hitting middle order batsman and a handy right-arm off-spinner.
"So I think it is very important we actually close out the series tomorrow in a professional manner, play good, decent cricket and perhaps the perfect game."
An Australian victory tomorrow will not only hand the hosts the Commonwealth Bank series trophy but will also mean they do not have to play the third final of the series at Adelaide on Thursday, March 8, 2012.
