though not been in any of the countries yet..(though met the residents)..being purely objective from the the view point of a third party observer..i will say "australia"............UK has long stopped being the preferred place to live in and settling down.........

I suggest that you do some inner soul searching before even considering leaving everything and everyone behind and leaving them effectively forever for a new life half a world away.

having lived in both countries, i would choose australia.  better weather = more outdoor activities, also good schools.  better health care system, lower taxes.  just all around better quality of life in my opinion.  plus i think in raising a child australian makes  them more well rounded and tolerant.

The best place for a family to live is where they will all be happy-it's no use moving to Aust just for the weather alone-you have to love being together as a family and you will be in the best place wherever that may be

the lifestyle australia offers is far more broader, it's more active and outdoorsy
