http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 in the opening game of their three-match One Day International (ODI) series, at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur in Bangladesh. The visitors amassed 270 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their
allotted 50 overs.
The pitch at Mirpur was dry and it had plenty of runs in it. However, the Bangladesh captain Shakib-Al-Hasan elected to field first after winning the toss. He claimed that the nature of the track would not change in the second half of the match. On the other
hand, Australian captain Michael http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 predicted some turn during the second innings.
The visitors didn’t get off to an ideal start, as they lost wicketkeeper batsman Brad Haddin early. The flamboyant batsman was looking to play aggressive cricket and threw his wicket away by playing a rash shot. He managed only 10 runs off 11 balls in his
short stay at the wicket.
This brought the veteran Australian player Ricky Ponting to the crease. The stylish first-drop looked good and constructed a solid partnership with star all-rounder Shane http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326. The pair played attacking cricket, guiding their team’s total to 81 in just
11.1 overs.
However, Ponting then got run-out after scoring 34 runs off 31 balls. He struck five fours and one six in his innings. He was soon followed by Watson, who added 37 to the total from 32 balls with the help of three fours and two towering sixes.
Australia were in a spot of bother at that stage, losing three wickets for 90 runs. However, captain Clarke and middle-order batsman Cameron White steadied the ship for their team, scoring 48 runs for the fourth wicket. White struggled to time the ball and
he eventually got out after scoring 20 runs from 50 balls.
This brought Michael Hussey to the crease, who provided good support to his captain. The pair played sensible cricket and put together 84 runs for the fifth wicket. Although Hussey failed to carry onto the start to his innings, Clarke didn’t lose his focus
at all. The stylish right-hander scored a terrific 101 runs off 111 balls before getting out.
A quick fire 26 off 13 balls from Mitchell Johnson guided Australia to 270 runs at the end. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Suhrawadi-Shuvo-c91688 was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts, as he grabbed three wickets in the innings.
