  1. New Zealand houses are cold in winter, unlike Australia, but unlike Sydney, even Auckland has no bars on the windows to keep the crims away, I would say NZ is much safer and more relaxed than Australia, but wages are lower.

  2. Hi

Assuming that you are an Australian citizen (and not simply living in Australia) then you are able to attend university in NZ as a local student.

I have attached a link to Victoria University which is in Wellington. It really depends on which area you wish to live in. As a suggestion, before making a big move and committing to moving to a different country for university, why don't you go to NZ for an extended holiday and check out the universities?  You may have to speak to someone directly at the university regarding their admission requirements.

The link below advises that the admission standards for Australian students are as follows:

Australian students require a TER/ENTER/UAI rank of 74.00 or greater. Queensland students need an OP rank of 12 or lower.

I have no idea about social security benefits as generally a student is measured against parental income until they are 25 here. BUT i have no idea if that applies to someone from Australia so you may be eligible for a student allowance of some sort.

    www.winz.govt.nz (like Centrelink).

  3. New Zealand is not in Australia they are separate countries try the correct category for answers.

  4. you might have better luck asking this question in the new zealand section..... just a thought, not sure what laws you'd be worried about running into?? your 16 your legal anything else is no one else's business
