Australia tour of West Indies: http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Assad-Badyr-Fudadin-c46573 replaces Devendra Bishoo in the 13-man squad – Cricket News Update
West Indies has called uncapped cricketer from Guyana, Assad Fudadin, in the 13-man squad for the third Test match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 at Windsor Park, Dominica. The 26-year-old all-rounder has replaced leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo
in the squad.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clyde-Godfrey-Butts-c51354, West Indies Cricket Board’s chairman of selectors, held that the Fudadin has been part of A-team for some time and has showed signs of improvement with his recent performances.
Butts is assured that the inclusion of Fudadin will strengthen the middle-order of West Indies, as the left-hander has been consistent at that position and his all-round abilities will also come in handy.
He said, “Fudadin has been a member of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 A team for a while now and we have seen signs of development and improvement. This year he batted well in the regional four-day tournament, and made over 500 runs including
two centuries. He was very consistent in the middle-order. He can also bowl medium pace and that is an asset.”
Darren Sammy, skipper West Indies, showed some sympathy with Bishoo, who has been the strike bowler for the Caribbean team in last year or so. The medium-pacer has shown faith in the leggy and believes that he will again don the
West Indian colours.
Sammy said, “We just had a team talk and what I said to Bishoo was he's been a warrior to us, especially last year, but sometimes you lose form. I told him I know deep down he will come back stronger because that's the sort of
player he is.”
West Indies are trailing behind Australia in the Test series. The hosts are down by one game to nil in the three match Test series, after losing the opening match at Bridgetown by three wickets. The second match at Port of Spain
ended in a draw, thus leaving the Caribbean contingent in a must win situation.
