Australia training hard for Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 are preparing hard to overcome their weaknesses ahead of the four match Test series against India, starting from Monday, December 26, 2011 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Australia.
The Kangaroos had a struggling time against the New Zealand bowlers in a recently played Test match in Hobart.
There was plenty of grass cover on the wicket and the batsmen were unable to bat freely against the swinging and seaming ball.
Although the hosts were in a comfortable position at one stage of the game, a sudden batting collapse saw them losing by just seven runs in the end. Opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DA-Warner-c1301 was the only batsman to make an impression, as he scored an unbeaten 123 runs in that
game.
However, most of the other batsmen failed to cope up against the moving ball and will now be sent to Melbourne early for a training camp.
Star players http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SE-Marsh-c2470 will also be a part of that training camp. The latter two players’ participation is subject to fitness, as they have been out of action due to injuries
after the South African series.
After a drawn series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mickey-Arthur-c1969 said, “The swinging ball was one thing that again probably exposed us a little bit. That's going to be top of the agenda to work on before Boxing Day because I know [India coach] Duncan
Fletcher really well and I know he'll try and expose us with the swinging ball.”
The South African added that he was disappointed after losing the second Test to New Zealand and will make sure that such things do not happen again.
Commenting on the loss, he said, “The situation out there demanded a little bit of resilience and I was a little bit disappointed through the middle how we folded. Those are things we've discussed, we've discussed them openly and honestly.”
Australia have not been able to win their previous two series on home soil. The team lost to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 by a margin of 3-1 and managed to draw the competition by 1-1 against the Black Caps.
They will now be looking to break the shackles against the Men in Blue.
