Australia v India: Aussies domination over Men in Blue continues – Cricket News Update
India’s tour of Australia got worse, as they lost the first Twenty20 international played at Stadium Australia, Sydney, by 31 runs.
Batting first, Australians posted a daunting total of 171 for the loss of four wickets. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Hussey-c1380 scored 42 quick runs.
India never got going, but the one bright spot was the return to form of their captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 who made a level-headed 48 in a pressure situation. However, Dhoni’s efforts went in vain as the Men in Blue were restricted to 140 for the loss of
six wickets from their quota of 20 over.
The Indian skipper admitted that he made a wrong call by bowling first in the match. He acknowledged that Australia batted well, and admitted a batsman had to stay at the crease to get his eye in.
“In hindsight I would have batted first. Wade batted well and was supported by Hussey and Warner. On a wicket like this, it is important for the person getting a start to carry on as it's difficult for the new batsmen. We'll do well in Melbourne,” said
Dhoni.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/George-Bailey-c1480 was leading the Australian national T20 side for the first time. The right-handed batsman was thrilled with the win. He lavished praise on his team and hoped they will continue on the same path in the second T20.
Bailey said, “All round performance from the boys. Very exciting to win the game and hopefully we can complete a series whitewash. What I enjoyed particularly was that everyone contributed. We got together in the first practice session and galvanised, but
this feeling is special.”
India’s search for an elusive win over the hosts continues after the Aussies clean swept them in the four match Test series. The Men in Blue will get a chance to redeem themselves in the second and final Twenty20 match of the series which will be played
at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday, February 3. The T20 match will be followed by a tri-angular ODI series involving http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
