Australia v India: http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 hints at retirement from Test by 2013 – Cricket News Update
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Indian skipper, has become the topic of discussion after he hinted at retiring from Test cricket by 2013, if he wants to make it to the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 2015 World Cup.
Dhoni shared these views on the eve of the Test match between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 and India at Perth. Speaking to the media, the wicket-keeper batsman said, “At the end of 2013, I have to decide if I am fit enough to proceed in one of the
format. I would have to see where I stand as to my body. Whether, I will be able to survive till the 2015 World Cup. If I have to see through the 2015, I would have to retire from one of the formats.”
Dhoni’s performance with the bat has taken a nose dive and many believe this is the reason behind his abrupt decision.
The wicket-keeper, concording with these claims, said, “Of course form is a big factor but also what I need to say is that all of a sudden in 2014 if I feel I can't survive the 2015 World Cup and there comes a new wicketkeeper
who has played just 30 ODIs, it's not fair. It's not for personal concerns but for the country and for the individual who is taking my position.”
The 30-year-old has been India’s most successful skipper in Test matches with a win/loss ratio of 1.88. Dhoni, as skipper, has led the Men in Blue to 17 Test victories out of 36 matches, and has suffered defeat in only nine.
After a fairytale start to his captaincy career, during which Team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 won 2011 World Cup and became the number one team in International Cricket Council Test rankings, things started to turn sour for Dhoni.
India suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat in England, which saw them slip to number three in Test rankings. The Men in Blue have lost the opening two Tests against Australia. The defeat at Sydney Cricket Ground in the second Test
was India’s sixth straight loss while playing away from home.
Team India has to play out of their skins, if they want to end their losing streak and level the series against the Aussies. The third game of the four match series between the two sides kicks-off on Friday, January 13, and will
be played at the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Western-Australia-c865 Cricket Association Ground, Perth.
