http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Watson-c2558 awaits recovery before the third Test match at Perth – Cricket News Update
Shane http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326, Australia’s top all-rounder, after being ruled out of the second Test match against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) due to a hamstring injury, is eagerly awaiting the third Test match at Perth.
The 30-year-old is hoping to recover from his injury before the selection phase for the match starts; in order to be eligible to enter the playing XI. Even though Watto is an all-rounder, right now he can only enter the team as
a batsman, since the bowling department is already jam packed with pacers.
In an exclusive interview to Sydney Morning Herald, Watson said, “It's been a bit of a slow process unfortunately. I'll start running tomorrow and build it up over the next week, and hopefully be fit and open to be picked as a
batsman in Perth. But that comes down to my fitness and also what the selectors think as well. Hopefully I'll start padding over the next couple of days as well.”
Watto’s hamstring injury has been cruel on his cricketing career, forcing the all-rounder to sit in the dugout every now and then. The injury resurfaced before the Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 in December 2011 forcing Watson
to seek rehabilitation once again.
The 30-year-old has been a bit gloomy with the scenario and said, “I did not think it was probably going to take this long, but unfortunately I've had a couple of little setbacks along the way. It's been quite a frustrating time
but I've just got to get through the other side of it and hopefully get back to playing very soon.”
Team India has a fully fit squad for the ongoing Test series, while the Aussies have a number of injuries to deal with. Nevertheless, despite a depleted roster, Australians managed to romp over the Men in Blue in the series opener
at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) by 122 runs.
Indian batters http://www.senore.com/Cricket/VVS-Laxman-c2772 are fond of the SCG, as they average 221.33 and 96.20 at this ground. The Men in Blue will make their utmost efforts to draw even in the series.
Australia has India’s number at SCG, as the tourists haven’t won a single match at SCG since the famous win in 1978.
