Australia v India: http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Watson-c2558 likely to remain in the dugout for the final Test – Cricket News Update
Australian cricket team is likely to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mickey-Arthur-c1969, the head coach.
The decision is not final as yet, but if the Aussies decides to go forward with Arthur’s suggestions it would mean that Shane Watson would have to sit in the dugout for the final Test match.
Watson, who is Australia’s top all-rounder, is due to recover from hamstring and calf injuries which forced him out of the Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.
Arthur does not want to hurry with Watson, by forcing him in the Adelaide Test. The Australian coach wants the all-rounder to fully recover from injuries before he plays his part in the Twenty20 and the tri-nation ODI tournament
which follows the Tests series.
The helm of the Aussie roster said, “I don't see the need to change too much right now. I think we've got some really good momentum. We've had a lot of success with this squad.”
The 43-year-old Transvaalian continued, “We’re wanting a fit and firing Shane Watson for the T20s and one-day series and I'm pretty sure we're going to have that. Whether he plays in Adelaide or not, I'm not sure. But I do know
that Shane http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326 will be around our Twenty20 and one-day side.”
Watson was http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s prime choice for the opening spot. However, while the all-rounder was rehabilitating, Aussie found an opening pair that has clicked together. Now, even if, the all-rounder is selected for Adelaide, he may
find his favourite opening spot being awarded to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Graham-Downton-c44379 Cowan.
The Australian vanguards, Cowan and Warner, were nothing special in the start but as the series progressed the duo blended in nicely. In the third Test match at Perth, the duo reached their peak when they put on 214-runs for the
first wicket, which laid the foundation for an Aussie win.
The final match of the series kicks-off on Tuesday, January 24.The outcome of the Adelaide will not affect the result of series, as the hosts already have an unassailable lead of three games to nil.
