Australia v South Africa - South Africa tour of Australia - 2nd Test - Toss Report
Australia have won the toss and elected to bat first in the second Test against rivals South Africa at Adelaide Oval.
South Africa will be going into the match without Vernon Philander and JP Duminy, which will see Rory Kleinveldt retain his place with Imran Tahir and Faf du Plessis coming in the squad to test their mettle against the mighty Aussies.
With the first match finishing in a draw, the remaining two games hold great importance and both sides would want to win at Adelaide in order to gain an upper hand against their rivals.
Both teams are certainly in their top form and fans would have a treat watching them give their best.
Imran Tahir will be the player to watch out for because if he manages to exploit the wicket, he will be extremely effective against the Aussies.
Pitch Report:
The Oval wicket is going to help the batsmen with something for the bowlers as well, the spinners might be a tad more successful than the pacers.
Captain’s comments:
Australia:
Michael Clarke: "The pitch has got a little bit more grass than I'm used to at the Adelaide Oval, but I think it's going to be a beautiful wicket."
South Africa:
Graeme Smith: "Vernon must have slept very badly last night and woke up with a bad back and he's out of the test match so Rory Kleinveldt will come in for him, Imran's played a few Test matches now and has played reasonably well and hopefully that will get better and better as time goes on."
