claiming that the home side is well prepared to take on Aussies.
Australia’s tour to Sri Lanka will get underway with a couple of Twenty20 Internationals, set to be played on August 6 and August 8, 2011. After trying their luck in the shorter version of the game, both teams will meet in five ODIs followed by the three-match
Test series.
The battle will be extremely crucial for the two teams as both sides are undergoing rebuilding process. Realising the importance of the series, Dilshan has stated that his side will look to come up with an awesome performance and pick up the winning tempo.
“This is a very good challenge for us playing against a great team like Australia As a team we’re playing at home and do our training and everything. We are ready for this series, we want to play cricket well here in Australia beats, confidence will be good
here – we are ready for this series,” said Dilshan.
On the other hand, the Aussies, who are coming into the series after drastic changes to the team composition, are also optimistic about hammering the islanders emphatically. However, the Lankan opening batsman has aimed not to let Kangaroos materialise their
dream of winning the clash.
Earlier, the 34-year-old all-rounder refrained from talking about his strategy against the Australian side, which is a mixture of young and experienced players. Dilshan made clear that the home side will have to maintain pressure on the visiting team throughout
the clash since the Australians have a knack of fighting till the last moment.
"The key when you are playing Australia is to remember that it is not over until you have sealed the game. The Australians are a bunch who fight till the last moment," shared the skipper who took over the charge after Kumar Sangakkara’s decision to quit
captaincy following a defeat in the finale of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World Cup 2011.
