Australia 329/7 (50 ov) v http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 won by 39 runs
On Wednesday, hosts Australia took the five-match ODI series against West Indies by winning their third match in a row at Manuka Oval, Canberra.
Defending a massive score of 329, Australia bowled-out West Indies for 290 runs in 47.3 overs.
Australia, who chose to bat, got off to a flier with openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Charles-Lennox-James-c44309 Finch putting 89 runs on the board, before the latter was dismissed by Sammy with 38 runs to his name.
The flamboyant Watson was then joined by PJ Hughes, as the two batsmen unleashed h**l upon their guests.
This was the partnership that actually took the game away from the Windies, who by now, were left without any ideas.
Finally with 201 runs on the board, the partnership met its end on the wicket of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326, who fell against Roach after jabbing an astounding knock of 122 runs. With Watson going so well, it was a treat for the Windies players to see the last of him.
Skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Clarke-c1978, lacked the sting in his batting today, as he could score only 15 runs before getting caught and bowled by Pollard. By this time, Australia had managed to post 242 runs on the board.
GJ Bailey was up next, as he came in to join Hughes, who was busy smacking the opposition all around the park.
However, this partnership was short-lived as Hughes was dismissed by Sammy with 86 runs to his name. At the time of this wicket, Australia were on 284.
Besides Bailey (44), the remaining batting line-up was cleaned up by the West Indies bowlers, who prevented the batsmen from scoring in double figures.
Chasing a huge total, West Indies openers KOA Powell and DC Thomas forged a stand of 54 runs.
In the upper-order KOA Powell’s 47, DM Bravo’ 86 and DJ Bravo’s 51 was still not good enough to take their side across the finish line.
In the lower-order, with wickets falling all around him, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AD-Russell-c915 played a well tamed knock of 43 runs.
From Australia, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jai-Prakash-Yadav-c65330 Faulkner, was the best bowler with four wickets to his name.
