  1. no, the all blacks will but aussie will still do good, hopefully theyll bet england

  2. Don't see it happening for the aussies, their rugby team has not been up to the standard of their cricket team. No teams in the Super 14 Semi's and a terrible loss for the reds on saturday.

My money is with New Zealand, South Africa and maybe France.

  3. We don't have the strength in the forwards, like we used to.  No Owen Finegan or Matt Cockbain with the mongrel attitude.  David Lyons is the best of our forwards, just shadowing Mark Chisolm in the tight five.  George Smith is world class, but can't do it on his own.  Same for Phil Waugh.

The final will be New Zealand against one of three teams.  South Africa, France or Ireland.

We will bow out in the quarter finals.  I hope I'm wrong

  4. I hope not only because I would like our team to win, the All Blacks, but anything is possible.  Anyway they have enough titles, its been along between drinks for us.  We need a win.  I'm just getting back into the groove and I genuinely think that the All Blacks can win this but then I've said that so many times and we have come up short.

  5. It is highly unlikely that Australia will win the rugby world cup given the form of the New Zealand "All Blacks" over the last 2 years.  The All Blacks have beaten every other major team during this time and have only lost twice - both times to South Africa...

  6. I doubt it, although if they can beat either France or NZ for a place in the final they may have a good chance at being in the top 2!

  7. Although an Englishman (living in Australia) I see the pool games resulting in the following QF's:

    Australia v England

    NZ v Ireland

    SA v Wales

    France v Italy

The result of these QF's and the following SF's will see NZ meet SA in the final and who will win is anyones guess it (see the Super 14's this weekend for an idea) but it will be a cracker!

  8. no the all blacks will win

  9. Hmmmmmm don't think so. I mean, their squad may have alos been written off last world cup and they got to the final, but its an ageing squad now, with some retiring and injured players. Also, as far as previous perfromance is concerned, they got completely outplayed by Ireland in Novermber.

All Blacks will win. However theres maybe 3 areas Australia could dominate them in.

Full back Latham is simply the best in the world, alike Tuquiri as a winger. And Mortlock will overshadow Nonu in centres.

  10. No, the All-Blacks are too hot.

  11. In 1999 Australia beat Pakistan ( Cricket World Champs }

They also beat France ( Rugby World Champs ) if France

had won they would have been double World Champs as they were the soccer World Champs.

To answer your question - going on current Super 14 form,

it doesn't look likely. Let's see what happens in the Tri Nations

  12. australia have an excellent chance of winning the world cup

new zealand are defn favourites but they have been in world cups before and have thrown it

you never know what you are going to get with france

ireland lack the experience at that level to win

new zealand or australia will win the world cup

  13. Australia is overrated. England will win hopefully

  14. well.....its a stretch - but hey -  you can never write off an australian team!!!

  15. Australia wont even get to the semi-finals. I think its out of the irish, the french and the all blacks. I think the irish will win because the all blacks will bottle in the big game and the fr ench pack isn't world class

  16. i dont see it as being too likely

the All Blacks have been in a class of their own lately,

and in super 14 south africa has shown their potential (besides being the only ones to down the all blacks last year)

and the french, you just never know with french rugby

i think these three are the only real likelyhoods

(wilkinsons back for england and playing great, but he doesnt really have anyone of note around him)

however i thought the aussies were past it last time, and they shocked evry1 knocking out the ABs in the semis

maybe gregan and larkham have got 1 left in em'

  17. 1st Bledisloe Cup match in June...maybe ill wait for results from that game..Too early for predictions.

  18. stop dreaming....no is the answer

  19. yes.  As a ex-pat sef african I can say that the Aussies have a better chance than the New Zealanders as they tend not to chock at the end.
