Australian A-League news
Rini Coolen, head coach of Adelaide United, has extended his warm thanks and appreciation to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Osama-Malik-c28716.
Malik could have joined Adelaide in time for the next A-League season after he agreed to a deal with the club last December, but his joining was delayed after the Reds lost Ian Fyfe, who joined the Korean League side, Busan. Ergo Adelaide were forced to
seek an early release for the 20-year old protégé.
The Queensland side showed a lot of flexibility by allowing the player of Pakistani origin to complete his transfer ahead of the scheduled time. Coolen was very appreciative towards the Fury management and has promised that he won't be playing the young
midfielder when the two sides meet in the Hyundai A-League clash this Friday.
Malik is making a return to Adelaide United 2 years after making his debut for the side in the World Cup in 2008. The youngster is currently nursing a minor hamstring injury, and Coolen reckons that Malik might be used to plug the gap in the center of the
Adelaide United defense.
"We were looking to have him in our squad as soon as possible. We thank the Fury to let it happen", he said.
But the Dutchman asserted that even if Malik is fit to play, he won't be named in the squad because he could never ask a new recruit to play against his former teammates so soon.
Although Osama Malik is a good midfield player, he has lately been used either as a central defender or as a holding midfielder, and Rini Coolen is also inclined to play the youngster in the center of defense when the need arises.
In 2008-09 Season, the Reds Youth League signed the talented midfielder after he was snapped by the Raiders, an Adelaide Super League club.
Although in the 2008-09 Season, Malik found first team opportunities hard to come by in the league for the Reds, he was given a lot of chances to prove his worth in the FIFA Club World Cup, and really impressed a lot of people in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Australia-c746 and Asia due to
his versatility and composure- which prompted Fury to sign him up.
The speedy player admitted that he was very happy to return to Adelaide as a lot of uncertainty is lingering around the future of his old club, Queensland Fury.
"The family is happy and I'm happy to be back, so it's really good. It's a hard situation at the moment, not knowing what's happening next year", he said during a press conference.
He also thanked the Fury fans and team, and wished them to be in the league and said that he was hopeful that the Queensland side will survive through the tough times in the league.
At the end of the day, each player has his own career to establish, and Osama Malik is not the only player looking for greener pastures.
