Australian Government?

Question

What is a republican system of government and what is a monarchical system of government? On Australian government, just Australian please.

i'm pretty sure republic means that you have a president which is democratically elected

Monarchial system means you have royalty (a  monarch - Queen of England) as a head of state

and therefore a Prime Minister (Kevin Rudd) as your minster for federal government i supose.

When Australians are debating whether they should become a republic its asking whether we should seperate from the queen and England - Become independent
