Australian Lindsey Wright all set for South African Women's Open
Lindsey Wright is scheduled to play in the South African Women’s Open this year. This is great news for the fans of the Australian golfer. She is all set to play against the top names in women golf at the event.
Lindsey Wright has been playing a rather unforgettable game since 2009. Her best during that year was a second position in the 2009 LPGA Championship.
This was indeed the highlight of the year for Wright. Another performance worth mentioning was a fourth position in Kraft Nabisco Championship. This great performance that was marred by her missing the half way cut in 2009 Women's British Open.
In 2011, Lindsey Wright seemed to lose her form. She missed the cut during two major LPGA events, the LPGA Championship and Women’s British Open. This was not something that fans had expected from the Aussie golfer.
Even when she made the cut, her performance was rather lacklustre. She finished Kraft Nabisco Championship at the 52nd position. This was followed by a 50th place in U.S. Women's Open 2011.
So far in 2012, Wright has appeared in two LPGA events. Her performance has vastly improved with one top-10 finish. Many fans see this as an indication of better things to come.
She played in Mobile Bay LPGA Classic and finished in the top-ten. This came after her rather uninspiring 33rd position in Sybase Match Play Championship.
This improvement is touted by many analysts and fans as a prelude to great golf by Wright in the South African Women’s Open.
Wright has come a long way in her golfing career. She started off as a top-of-the-line amateur with a string of wins to her credit.
Many expected an equally brilliant pro career. Sadly this has not materialized so far. Still, Wright has great golf potential left in her.
South African Women’s Open is a perfect opportunity for Wright to showcase her talent. Many expect her to be confident during the event after her top-10 finish earlier.
Her game appears to be steadily improving and she is likely give a tough time to many golfers vying for a place on the leaderboard.
