Australian Men’s and Women’s senior and Under-21 teams have been announced – Hockey News
Australian Men’s and Women’s Senior and Junior squad have been announced after a thorough analysis of players’ performance in the recently held Australian Country Championship which concluded last week at Port Lincoln.
“The quality of players attending the Championships has ensured the selection of very strong teams that will represent Country Australia in upcoming tours,” Michael Nelson, the chairman of selectors, stated his views on selection if the squads.
The senior teams will visit Thailand and Malaysia in April 2012 where they will be up against some of the teams across the country while the junior teams’ next assignment is to participate in the Oceana Pacific Cup which will held in Fiji in the last month
of running year.
Australia’s Senior Men’s side includes the following players:
Aaron Harmsworth, Todd Harmsworth, Aaron Head, Gareth Hoddinott, Tristan Hunt, Cameron Baker, Jye Bunt, Adam Catalano, Fergus Dawson, Jaden Ekert, John Fernance, Alex Said, Trent Smith, Cameron Thornton, Steven Young, Jeremy Payne and Peter Rowe, while Rob
Laffin will coach the team along with his assistant Brett Stokes and Keith Wilkie will be the manager.
Australia’s Senior Women’s squad comprises of following players:
Shannon Elsden, Andrea Farrow, Mel Greer, Kim Hill, Terri Jasper, Carolyn Margetts, Amanda Meech, Kathleen Messer, Jo Plowright, Shelley Stevenson, Talei Stoll, Emma Walter, Jessica Antonovich, Danielle Ashurst, Joanne Bisby, Lisa Christiansen and Janessa
Donnolley. Gina Smith will be the manager while Jeffery Aldridge will be the coach along with Phill Forman as his assistant.
The Junior Men’s team consists of the following players:
Matthew Harmon, Stuart Hutchins, Brody Latham, Alex Mackay, Sam McIntosh, Sam McPherson, Hugh Berryman, Jyi Connelly, Jacob Daumuller, Nathan Doherty, Timothy Eslick, Timothy Forster, , Zach Nelson, Tim Roberts, Dean Robertson, Jared Truscott, Domnic Wild
and Kieran Wilkie. Dale Wells will serve as manager while Jai Singhota as a coach with assistant coach Marc Richardson.
The Junior Women’s side to have the following outfits:

Elizabeth McHugh and Carmon McPhee with Temeka Hodd as manager, Wayne Gaynor coach and Marc Richardson as assistant coach.
