Australian Women's Cricket team gains recognition by Cricket Australia - Cricket News Update
The Australian Women’s Cricket team has made a huge contribution to both women’s cricket in the country as well to the sport as a whole. The team has added five world cups to their profile since 1978 and has held records such as the highest team total, highest
individual score and best innings bowling.
However, recently, the female side moved another step ahead after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Michael-Brown-c75791, Acting Chief Executive Officer for Cricket Australia (CA), offered recognition to the Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA) as the Women team’s official representative body.
Not only was this decision taken to bring about growth and further development in women’s cricket in Australia but to also build http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bridges-c48628 between ACA and CA to work unified for the good of the game.
ACA Chief Executive Officer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Paul-Marsh-c81144 added, “Formal recognition extends on our existing relationship with the female players and will allow us to work closely with CA in building this important part of Australian cricket”.
The team’s captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jodie-Maree-Fields-c67118, who returned to the side after 18 months due to a hamstring injury, had some fine words to add to this decision.
Fields too believed that such an initiative would allow the girls to grow more as players and professionals.
The skipper, who recently led her team to a victorious Rose Bowl Cup against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754, also said that her team’s recognition will also allow them to further develop into a stronger and unified side.

The ACA and CA has also decided to further support the female team through their joint Professional Development Program allowing them professional support as well as grants.
The Australian women’s team has already added numerous victories to their profile which over the years have earned themselves the first ranking amongst Women’s top ten ODI cricket teams.
Moreover, with initiatives, such as this, offered by CA and the ACA, the team will have more ground to cover both as a triumphant team as well as proud Australian representatives.
