  Australian Appetizer

Ingredients:

2 capsicums

4 ozs cheddar cheese - finely grated

1 teaspoon milk

1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce (*)

Directions:

Wash and dry capsicums

Remove top, stalk, seeds.

Rinse and dry well.

Combine cheese, milk and worcestershire sauce.*

Mix to a smooth paste.

Fill capsicums with the cheese mixture.

Press in firmly.

Refrigerate for several hours.

To serve, cut into thin slices and arrange on a serving platter.

(*) Chilli sauce may be used in place of the worcestershire sauce...Angel.

Man, half those answers were so dumb I had to answer..

Australian cuisine is a fusion of all international cuisines... apart from having restaurants of every type in every city (indian, chinese, mexican, japanese, thai, german, french etc) there are lots of modern australian restaurants, which are fusion cuisines.

So an aussie appetiser could be absolutely anything! If you had to pinpoint it though it would probably contain seafood; australia has an abundance of cheap, fresh, delicious seafood and we like to use it. So something like chilli lime prawns or oysters done different ways could be said as typical.

There isn't really any typical Australian appetizer, however try finding recipes with something like lamb or Australian game meats like emu, kangaroo or something like that

however many of these foods I am sure aren't consumed very regularly here and are just made up of people from over seas who thinks its australian and common to eat

2 cabanossi Sticks

1 block of cheese

1 box of jatz

Cut the cabanossi and cheese into cubes.

Serve on a platter with Jatz on the side.
