How do I go about opening account. under a different name

  1. Australia is VERY strict and whomever opens a bank acct must meet the "100 points" criteria. If unfamiliar with this, the idea is your passport might be worth 40 points toward positively identifying the person opening the acct and a valid drivers license counts as maybe 30, active credit card, 20, utility bill in the same name, 20 points. NOTE: these point figures are not accurate, offered only as illustration AND all I.D. must be in the same name as the one wishing to open the acct. If you have changed names you will need all the above and a court decree reflecting the name change etc etc
