Australian bowlers tear through the England top order

Following the brilliant knock by Mike Hussey and Shane http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 to safety in the third test, the Aussie bowling line up has torn through the England top order after claiming 5 wickets in quick succession. The first batsman to depart was
Alastair Cook who has had a brilliant run in the past two tests however could not capitalize on his good form as he was caught lbw in front of his stumps. He went fatally back which eventually meant that Cook could not adjust in time to keep himself from being
trapped in front of the wickets.
The next to depart was Andrew Strauss who clipped the edge of his bat to a rather fullish delivery around off stump. The ball went straight to Ponting, who hardly drops many catches. Jonathan Trott and Kevin Pietersen came to play on the crease and English
fans hoped against hope that they would be able to avert an imminent disaster for the Englishmen, however that was not to be, as Trott edged a ball off Johnson to second slip, where Ponting couldn’t take it cleanly so Haddin jumped in and took the rebound
off Ponting. Pietersen was also forced to nick the ball in the slips as England made a very nervous start with most of their batting order back in the pavilion.
The last ball of the day resulted in Collingwood also being caught in third slip where Steven Smith managed to take a rather low catch off the bowling of Ryan Harris. Australian bowling and fielding has been spot on and they have come out on top in the third
test at WACA. Having been under pressure for the last few tests the Aussies have finally sprung back and now seem very potent. The Englishmen would be regretting that they ever picked on Johnson who went out of action for some time, as he made a brilliant
comeback. It was in fact Johnsons batting in the first innings that set the pace of things for Australia.
Shane Watson and Mike Hussey performed exceptionally well and with this performance it is more than evident that England are missing their all – rounder Stuart Broad whose exclusion has certainly made more of an impact on their nerves and their game than
the inclusion of Tremlett who has performed exceptionally well for the Barmy Army. Australia are now certainly on top and they will be hoping to wrap up England’s innings in the early hours of tomorrow.
