The first Ashes test at Gabba will be remembered by both England and Australia for a long, long time.
England will never forget this Test for the sort of performance its batsmen gave in the second innings by putting a score of 517 with the loss of only one wicket. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 will remember the first test at Brisbane due to its demoralising effect that it has
left on the whole team, and the amount of individual and team spirit it has taken away due to the toothless performance of bowling attack.
This led Australia to consider many other options as a bowling attack for the next Test so that it does not face the same fate again. For this it has called up two new bowlers to the squad, Doug Bollinger and Ryan Harris. Demoralised situation has also led
to the chances of exclusion of promising fast bowler Mitchell Johnson. He wet wicket less in the first Test and his place in the playing XI for the second Test at Adelaide is dangling.
Tim Nielsen, Australian coach is not happy with the most expected decision of Australian board on the fate of Mitchell Johnson that he will be ignored for the second Test. He said that he could not see Johnson being given the whole blame of first test bowling
failure. Johnson himself was completely frustrated with his own performance in the first test of 0 wickets at the cost of 170 runs which is the worst performance of his Test career.
Australian media showed no mercy in assessing the performance of Johnson and even great former cricketer, Ian Chappell, suggested the Australian board for dropping him for he next Test at Adelaide. Return of two other fast bowlers in the squad means that
now five bowlers will contest for three fast bowling for three spots.
Australian coach said getting 11 wicket twice by every team in a Test match is very difficult job to do especially for the bowlers but the benefit of a five day game is that one day one player cannot perform and it should be ignored as bowling group in the
team because it gives confidence to the player and he can perform very well some other day.
Nielsen also said that this is the way international cricket is different from domestic cricket, but a player should be given enough chance to show his mettle.
