The former Australian skipper, Bob Simpson, has voiced his concerns over the present structure of the national Aussie team, saying that cricket in the country has suffered from "fashions, fads and theories".
He advised Kangaroos to enhance their competitive edge in the game if they want to earn back their lost pride and respect at the highest level of cricket.

Having captained http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in the '60s and '70s, before taking over charge as the first coach of the side in ‘80s, Simpson gave his support to the recent Argus review report, and said that serious steps are required to improve the quality of the crew.
“We have to have a very close look at it (Australian cricket). It reminds me of when I first took over the team (as coach). What we did then was pick players who you think are going to make it and give them as much encouragement as possible," said Simpson
who is one of the legends of the game.

The former coach shared that the guys need to change their strategy in the practice sessions, suggesting that the batsmen should play best available bowlers in the nets.
"If you go to practice today, too much of the time the bowlers are not bowling at the batsmen, they're bowling at a stump out in the middle. It means the batsmen are not getting the best bowlers against them because they've got practice bowlers and the bowlers
are not learning how to get the batsmen out as much as they should,” added the 75-year-old, who played 62 Test during his International career from 1957 to 1978.
