i have to do an essay on australian geology and why australia is a physically unique country.

my first paragraph is:

As an island continent, australia is a physically unique country. Part of the Asia-Pacific region, Australia is the world's largest island surrounded by the indian ocean & the south pacific ocean. Australia is the flattest continent in the world and compared to other countries it is the 6th largest country on earth.

i would like more help with detail please.

  1. It is because it sits at the center of a tectonic plate rather than being located at the edge of one. There is therefore less seismic activity (volcanoes, earthquakes, etc.) to change the topography any significant amount.
